We're is excited to launch our new Strategic Plan titled FOR A BETTER US: BUILDING TOMORROW TOGETHER, a forward-thinking roadmap designed to strengthen people, expand impact, and ensure the Y’s long-term sustainability in Central New York.
"The Y has always been a place of connection, support, and transformation," said Josh Royce, President & CEO of the YMCA of Central New York. "This strategic plan allows us to focus on what matters most—our people, our purpose, and our future—so we can continue building stronger, healthier communities for generations to come."
This new strategic plan reflects the voices and needs of the YMCA of Central New York community, developed through an extensive engagement process with Y staff, board members, and key partners.
The key priorities outlined in the Strategic Plan include working to strengthen community by focusing on:
- People – Building a culture where everyone can thrive, grow and belong a while making an impact on the community.
- Purpose – Deepening community connections through collaborations and partnerships that will serve more people with intentionality.
- Programs & Places – enhancing and improving the Y’s programs and services through an organization-wide commitment to quality and innovation.
- The Future – Ensuring long-term sustainability and continuous growth through innovative strategies, partnerships/collaborations, and financial health.

For 166 years, the Y has been a cornerstone of the Central New York community, dedicated to strengthening the spirit, mind, and body of every individual we serve. This new strategic plan reaffirms our commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and impact, ensuring that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our community. Together, we will build on our rich legacy and create a brighter, healthier future for all.”
