MANLIUS BRANCH
- This event has been postponed due to weather. Rescheduled Date: TBD. Join our Manlius team from 9:30am-12pm on Tuesday 4/19 for a clean-up at Mill Run Park.
NORTH AREA FAMILY BRANCH
- Staff, Y members, and community will be partnering with Clay Central Park located at 4821 Wetzel Rd to do a park clean up on April 22 from 10am to 5pm. Check in at member services at North to get supplies (OCRAA is donating all trash bags), pick up Earth Day info and get any instructions needed.
NORTHWEST FAMILY BRANCH
Our Northwest branch will have a variety of activities around the branch on April 22:
- Staff and members with be doing a parking lot clean up beginning 11am.
- Outdoor group ex class and information on tips to help the environment.
- Blue bin giveaway and recycling dos and don’ts
- Painting with Nature in Prime Time child care
- SACC sites will be planting flowers for friends and family
- The Art Auction featuring pottery and plants begins 4/23
SOUTHWEST BRANCH
- SACC programs will be doing campus clean-up activities 4/22
- SACC and Prime Time kids will be planting flowers, fruit, or vegetable seeds to take home to learn more about gardening.
- SACC lesson plans for the week will be focused around Earth Day programming.
- Collaborating with Onondaga Community College Business Club for a Friday clean-up project at the Zoo from 9am-12pm
HAL WELSH EAST AREA FAMILY BRANCH
- Our team will be working to clean up and beautify around our branch and in the parking lot in Towne Center on the 22nd.
DOWNTOWN BRANCH
- Our Downtown branch is participating in the Downtown Committee’s clean-up on Saturday, April 23rd, beginning at 10:30am at 217 Montgomery St. Learn more about this event here!
NORTHSIDE WOMEN’S CENTER
Members of our staff will be joining NEHDA in a neighborhood cleanup from 9am to 3pm on Saturday, April 23rd.
SCSD Afterschool Arts Programs
- McKinley-Brighton: Clean-up of school grounds. Environmental education activities, varied by grade level, including videos, crafts, Earth Day pledges, and more. If possible, plant the raised bed in front of the school.
- Oasis Academy: Clean-up of school grounds. Education activities about differentiating between recyclables and actual trash.
- Salem Hyde: Clean-up of school grounds, along with a variety of in-class environment-themed crafts and activities.
- Syracuse Latin School: Education activities on plastic awareness, crafts with recycled materials, flower-planting.
- Roberts: "Building Men" program will be participating in a clean-up at Hiawatha Lake.
