Bike Course
Tri  AB and Du: 20 km through hilly Green Lakes State Park and along mostly flat country roads
You must wear a shirt. Your helmet must be on and buckled. You must mount/dismount after/before the timing pad. You should have your bib number on. Ride to the right. Pass on the left. No drafting.

Swim Course
1/2 mile in striking the blue-green waters of Green Lake, which was dug by mile-high glacial waterfalls 15,000 years ago. June water temps average 68-72. Wetsuit recommended but not required.
You must wear your assigned cap:
You may at any time grab a kayak, paddleboard, or life boat to rest during the swim without penalty. When you exit the water, please make sure your cap color is visible so that you may be “counted out.” If you decide to drop out of the race, you must cross the timing mat before turning in your chip.

Run Course
Tri: 3 Miles on a scenic path, through upland forests and around two meromictic lakes
Du: 2 miles counter clockwise around Round Lake and into T1 and 3 miles around both Green and Round Lake to finish line
You must wear a shirt and have your bib number on.
There will be a table to get your medal and also grab and go lunch provided.

Packets may be picked up Thursday 3-6pm and Friday 1-6:00pm at Syracuse Bicycle or starting at 6:30 a.m. on site on race day. We cannot stress packet pick-up beforehand enough to make your morning easier and registration lines shorter! You may pick up for a friend or relative with a signature.

Please review the information in your packet, including your age and swim wave. If there is a discrepancy, please notify an official immediately.

Chip pick-up will be at 6:30 a.m. You must show your bib to pick up your chip. There are no exceptions.

When teams pick up their chip – all members must be present. No exceptions.

The transition area will be open to rack your bike starting at 6:15 a.m. for those in earlier waves. This year we are spreading out arrival, transition, and swim times. You must rack your bike on an X or DOT IGNORE THE RACK NUMBERS, this a change. It is to stay a safe distance. Bikes should be removed by 11 a.m. To enter the transition area, you must have your bib.

The information meeting is at 7:30 a.m. The first wave departs at 8:00 am

While we take all safety precautions, you are ultimately responsible for your own safety in all three events. Most of the roads are open to traffic.

Please have your own Nutrition and water on bike or in Transition.

 

Do I need a wetsuit?
No, however about 75% of participants wear one

How many may be on a team?  
A team may consist of 2-3 individuals. On race day, all must be present when picking up the chip.

How many waves are there?  
There are 6-8 waves, five minutes apart. You must swim in your assigned wave.

Do I need to wear a helmet?
Yes, it also must be buckled before and after leaving transition.

Do I need to wear a bathing cap?  
Yes, you must wear the one provided to you.

Can I wear earbuds or headphones?  
No. Participants seen wearing them will be disqualified without exception.

Are bike tags provided?  
Yes. They are provided to be attached to your bike for identification.

Where do I rack my bike?  
Your bike must be racked on a X or DOT, IGNORE THE RACK NUMBERS THIS YEAR!!!

When must my bike be removed?  
Bikes should be removed by 11 a.m. to facilitate transition area teardown and the opening of the parking lot.

Is there a race cut-off?  
Yes. Participants should be out of the transition area and starting their run by 10:15. We reserve the right to ask for the chip of participants who are unable to meet the deadline. This was instituted for a number of reasons, including: meeting deadlines for removal of the transition areas, opening of the park, and helping to ensure the safety of all participants by setting clear minimum performance requirements. Sometimes special situations may occur such as a flat tire, or illness and they will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If for some reason you have concerns about not being able to finish the event by 11:00, please contact the Race Director before race day.

What if I cannot finish the race?  
If for some reason you cannot finish, please notify a race official and turn in your chip.

If I am unable to stay for the awards ceremony, how can I get my award? 
Awards start at about 10:15, if you cannot stay you may pick up at Downtown YMCA after the Monday following the race.

Where will the results be posted?  
Results will be posted on Score-this website no paper on race day.

Do I have to be a USAT Member or pay the one day USAT license fee?  
No. Participants need not be USAT members nor must they pay an additional fee to participate.

Once the race is filled, if I have not registered, can I be placed on a waiting list?

If I’m registered but can’t come, can I get a refund?  
We suggest you find someone to transfer it to

Can I pick up a friend’s packet at packet pick-up?  
Yes, you just need to sign it out

Can family or friends attend the picnic?  
No picnic this year! Grab and Go lunch
